The MT550W7 includes an upgrade path to Windows 8 with the touch-optimized Metro user interface, which will be commercially available later in 2012.

The demonstrations will include both the Windows 7 product as well as the prototype Windows 8 Developer Preview installation. MultiTouch will demonstrate the MT550W7 at its CES 2012 booth, #15512, in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The combination of the advanced interaction features and ultra-fast 200 fps tracking enable engaging interactive user experiences, and its full networking capabilities allow for cloud applications and social network integration, as well as remote management and monitoring. The new display is targeted for demanding public installations in retail spaces, museums and exhibitions. The MultiTaction Cell 55-inch is a full-HD display that is 4 inches deep on the sides and 8 inches deep in the middle, and can accommodate unlimited numbers of touch points and an unlimited number of concurrent users with full hand recognition. MultiTaction builds on MultiTouch's patented optical imaging technology for multitouch displays and provides touch, gesture and object recognition capabilities. The MT550W7 is the second product released using MultiTouch's MultiTaction platform, which was released in 2011, and first in the line of Embedded products optimized for single-display installations, the company said.
Designed for single-display installations, it works effectively with a variety of development tools, including the MultiTouch Cornerstone SDK and Microsoft Surface 2 SDK. The MultiTaction Cell 55-inch Embedded with Windows 7 product made its debut at CES 2012. The MultiTaction Oblique Wall, measuring 13 feet long and 9 feet tall, features six MultiTaction Cell 55-inch units, and will run a multi-user visualization application built on MultiTouch Cornerstone SDK, the toolset designed for building multi-display multitouch applications. Other demos in the MultiTouch CES 2012 booth include the 2X Stacked MultiTaction Augmented Reality Table the MT550W7 MultiTaction Cell 55-inch full-HD LCD Embedded Windows 7 unit a fully integrated multi-user interactive display with Windows 7 embedded inside and a prototype MT550W7 unit with Windows 8 Developer Preview, as well as real-life object recognition on various interactive displays. The company will highlight what it is billing as "the world's largest asymmetric multiuser touch wall," the MultiTaction Oblique Wall, made up of the company's MultiTaction Cell 55-inch LCD displays. MultiTouch Ltd., developer of modular multitouch LCD screens for large-scale displays, will showcase a range of new multitouch applications at its CES 2012 booth #15512, in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
